We're Outta Here!!!

Well this is my last post for awhile...........Tyee and I leave for our 12 day trip of rafting down the Colorado River. Its my first time to the Grand Canyon, and our first time leaving Jack for more than 1 night. He will be with both his grammies in the best of care, but we will miss him to death!!!! I'm sure he will have a great time with the two women who love him more than anything. Unfortunately, my pics from the weekend involve Jack's first official goose-egg/bruise on his forehead! He was also having fun trying on my new river hat! I hope everyone has a wonderful couple of weeks.

Our Week

We started out the week with Jack not feeling so hot.....well he was too hot, with a fever and some sort of virus per the doc. On top of that I know he is getting at least one more new tooth on the bottom, maybe more. So our guy has been out of sorts on and off this week. I did manage to capture pics of our good times however.

Here is Jack sitting at his new picnic table that his cousins the Guse's gave him for his birthday, along with a birthday T from Uncle Jed. This t-shirt cracks me up because Tyee has so many stories from his childhood days of riding around in his family's VW bus.

It was so nice today in P-town. We started the day in the backyard with Jack's frog pool from Auntie Annie and ended the day at Jamieson Square in the Pearl with auntie Moo.

Cutie PA-tootie

I just think my guy is so dang cute..............I never thought the day would come where I would not want Jack to go to bed, but stay up with us and play and hang out. I miss him so much on the 2 days that I work!

Happy Father's Day Tyee and Dan!

Jack has the MOST amazing father, and he likes to tell me about it every day when we look at daddie's pictures on the fridge. Tyee spends an hour with Jack each morning before work, playing, eating, and usually doing morning diaper duty. Then each night they get another hour together for bath time, jammies, bottle, stories, and bed. I knew Tyee was going to be an amazing father and I love watching him with our son.

I had no idea, however, what an amazing grandfather my dad would be. Jack adores him to no end and even calls him "PA" when he see him, or any other older looking man from a distance :> My dad does things with Jack that he never even did with his own kids!!!! He feeds him, changes him, and his right down on the floor to laugh and play the day away. I never would have imagined the bond that has formed between these two. We are looking forward to Jack taking his first official combine ride this summer during harvest.

I love my Ty and love my dad............thank you both for everything you do for our Jack.

Like Father, Like Son

Of those of you who know me really well, you know that I am not a super duper gardener by any means!! I think it was too many awful summers of allergies and horrible farm work :>:>!!! My son, however, is just like his father. He is happiest when outside, and loves to explore in the back yard. His favorite activity is to eat small pebbles, but lately he has been taking time to smell the roses, eat some peas from the garden, and try to pick the broccoli before its ready.

Birthday Hangover and BIGGG Milestone!

Well, I should have known that since Jack was so wonderful from his busy birthday, we might have a couple of less that perfect behavior days :>. He was just a little crabby for a few days this week...I think he missed having all of his peeps around...he gets bored with just me. The exciting news is that literally since his actual birthday, Jack has gained the confidence to walk!! Multiple times a day he takes like 5 or so steps before he either falls down on his bum or grabs onto something. The best is when he is taking some steps, looks around to see if anyone is watching, and then sits down and claps for himself. It is pretty dang cute. I went to take pics of this blessed event today, and my battery ran out, so you guys get pics of the tantruming Jack instead. Cheers!!!

A visit with the girlies!

To end our wonderful and busy weekend, we had the chance to see two of my best girls from the college days and their two kids each. Kami has two beautiful girls Gabi and Gracie, and even though Jack and Gracie look the same size, she is actually 4 months younger! Carolyn has two beautiful boys Colton and Wyatt and they are great too. Between the four girls who were pretty unseparable in college (me, Steph, Kam and CJ) we had 6 little ones....times have changed quite a bit since those days in the Gamma Phi bike shed. I miss them so much and wish we could all raise our kids together. We just have to make sure to do lots of little trips for everyone to see each other.

Happy First Birthday Jack Weston

The big day came and went........what a success and such a great time!!!! We had a Puppy Party for Jack's first b-day this past Saturday. It was a great few days..with Jack's grammie Deb and his uncle Jed who flew all the way up from California to celebrate and help. Tyee and I could never have put the party together without all the help from Deb. We made "pup" cakes, barbecue, and had lots of family and friends over. Jack had his first official "sweet" and loved it and was extremely blessed with tons of amazing gifts. I must admit it was pretty overstimulating, but Jack hung in there like a true mature one year old :> It was so wonderful to have most of the people present who have helped us through this exciting and demanding first year of Jack's life. I remember his birth so vividly and knew this little man would change our lives forever!! Thank you Jack for being you and we can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays!

We're Here!!

I have been such a bad blogger this past week or so because I was on my death bed!!! I came down with a very nasty cold and sinus infection and could not do much of anything...but I wanted to chronicle some fun times we had last weekend. Our good friends Ali and Brady came over from Redmond again and stayed the night this time. Even though poor Brady was getting sick, he was still a sweetheart and he and Jack had a great time together...chasing each other around, hiding in Sophie's kennel, sharing binikis and bottles (and believe it or not, Jack has not gotten strep yet!). But the cutest thing they did was stand at the window sill and laugh and giggle at each other. It was so funny!! They look so different size wise, it definitely looks like Jack is "looking up" to Brady.
