We had a pretty chill stay at home weekend, but even as I say that, we still were pretty active! Jack was that is....we just follow his lead. He had fun Friday visiting with his friends Steph and baby Ethan, then spent lots of time out in the yard raking leaves and shooting baskets.

Relaxing Days
We had one of our first rainy days of the fall, so Jack, Soph, and I spent lots of time playing inside. As you can see, Jack got a new "armchair" for his reading corner and he loves it!! I never thought a child could be so excited about a piece of furniture.

Children's Museum
Since the weather is taking a slight down turn, we decided to check out the Children's Museum here and actually got a membership so we can go as often as we want! Jack loved it and there was SOOOO much to do. I took Jack on Friday and Tyee took him again on Sunday. From the water toys to the art, to the digging pit, "grocery store", theater, building area, it just goes on and on!! He looks very serious in all these pictures....too busy to smile:>

Happy 3rd Anniversary To Us..
Tyee and I had our 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday and in true "old married couple" form, we will celebrate on Friday because Tyee was out of town on business. But nonetheless, he surprised me with the MOST gorgeous boquet of flowers and a wonderful card. We have had quite an adventure-filled 3 years and I could not have asked for a better partner in parenthood and life!

Shap visits!!!
My great friend Mark Shapiro from the UPS days came by our house on Tuesday for dinner and to meet the Jack-man! We had such a great time with him and enjoyed hearing about his wedding and his lovely wife Susan. Jack ran around and showed Shap all of his "tricks".

Beautiful Days
THis week has been so gorgeous with our last days of summer! We have spending the mornings playing at the park and the afternoons playing with water out in the backyard. Jack nabbed a tomato off the vine and ate it like an apple!!! I ONLY like tomatoes without the gooey seedy parts, so he doesn't get the love of whole tomatoes from me!

Welcome to the world Mia Coussens!!!!!!
My brother Mike and his wife Fawn welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Maria Jeanne Coussens (going by "Mia") this past Thursday. We spent the weekend up in Seattle getting acquainted with our beautiful niece. Mike and Fawn already look and act like pros and the baby is ADORABLE!!!!
I also had to include a pic of the new grandparents who apparently both think its necessary to wear not just 1, but 2, pairs of glasses on their heads!! Geeks!

Last Days of Summer
We decided to take advantage of the last few days of sun and each lunch outside yesterday. I can't believe this will be Jack's second summer to fall transition, which is my favorite time of year! Now if we could just get him to stay up a little bit longer at night we could go to a high school football game...something Tyee and I have been wanting to do. We have to go cheer on our local Jefferson Democrats!!! I bet anyone that knows me would be cringing right now :>:>
Jack is becoming such a big boy. I mean he might as well be getting ready for his senior prom.......well maybe not that old yet, just old enough to start drinking out of a cup, becoming obsessed with books, and talking more and more. After having name for everyone else in our lives, Jack is FINALLY calling his dad Da Da and running to give him hugs any chance he gets. It's pretty sweet.

Our Journey Continued.....
We made our way west over to Tyee's hometown of Ashland to visit Jack's grandpa John and his wife Claire. We had such a wonderful visit. Jack remembered his other grampie right away and was so comfortable in his arms. Claire and John were wonderful with Jack and spoiled him to death!!!! They spoiled us too with wonderful food, tomatoes from the garden, and walks in Lithia Park. Here are some gems from our visit.

What a Weekend
Our family (minus Soph cause she had to stay home and protect the house) made a cross-country journey around Oregon this past weekend. I must admit I was pretty nervous to travel so much and so far with Jack, but he did AMAZING!!!! Tyee and I were so happy and proud of him. He did good in the car (which can be nightmarish at times), slept well, ate well, and was the most social and friendly little dude everywhere we went.
Our first stop was in Redmond where we stayed with Ali, Andy, Brady, and LaRue. We had a short but wonderful visit. The Muilenburgs were so gracious to feed us and let us stay at their beautiful house. Brady and Jack chased each other around, cried over each other's toys, and took a bath together.
We then drove down to a town called McDowel which is really in California, right over the Oregon border. Tyee's great friend Ryan from school grew up on a huge and beautiful alfalfa farm with Mt. Shasta in the background. It was pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but Jack had the chance to meet Ryan and Sarah's 13 month old, Robby. Jack spent lots of time looking at the cattle, hummingbirds, quail, horse, and tons of other species. Ryan's father and Pam were wonderful and gracious hosts.
After two nights there, we hopped in the car for our next leg of the journey..........
