Happy 5th Birthday Jack Weston Harpster!!

Wow, I just don't even know where to begin.....once again we had a week of birthday bonanzas between Jack and myself...but mostly for Jack thank goodness. Wednesday there were donuts and school celebration, Thursday (his actual birthday) we had family presents in the morning, out to lunch with our good friends, and Jack's choice for dinner, Pok Pok Noi :) He LOVES the fish sauce chicken wings, which by the way are ranked as the 7th best tasting food in the WORLD by Food and Wine magazine or something. What a Portlandian foodie he is :) Then we had more presents and ice cream sandwiches at the house that night with Gram/Pa, Moo, and Matt and Lorena. The festivities were capped off by a joint birthday party in the park with Jack's best friend, Noah, on Sunday. Whew!! We are exhausted to say the least. But honestly, our wonderful son deserves a month of celebrations in my eyes. He has developed into such an amazing little man. Tyee and I are so grateful for him every single night. He continues to be bright, sensitive, funny, smart, and caring. He is so in tune to my emotions, which is good and bad :) He is sweet to his sister 75% of the time. He makes friends SO easily, and chats with everyone. He is still a bit apprehensive with new physical challenges, but is able to conquer them when they are on his terms. He can ride his bike now with no training wheels, gets himself all ready in the morning, makes his bed and even gets some of his breakfast ready. He thanks me for things like taking him to the dentist and church...what??!!! He continues to be obsessed with art, drawing, looking at books, legos, and trains. HE loves to help Tyee in the yard, cook or do anything with him. He loves to hike with us, and LOVES to clean including vacuuming, sweeping and doing laundry. What a crazy boy. Don't get me wrong, he still gets "in trouble" for time to time, and loves to test boundaries especially when it comes to going to bed. We just can't get enough of our Jackie Moon and can't wait to see what the next 5 years bring :)
