Since I know Tyee checks this blog lots to, I had to take the opportunity to thank him so much for all he does to help me take care of our son. Jack can be challenging at times, and this past weekend he was teething like crazy, and VERY crabby. Tyee came in to save the day, take Jack out to play and eat dirt :>, and calm him down. They were together LOTS this weekend as I had to run, work, and take some time for myself. I love my boys very much and am so lucky to have them!! (and our girl Soph too!)

What a Week
I know everyone in my life who is a parent told me how amazing the first year would be in terms of development, but I never expected such changes on a daily basis! This week Jack has done so many HUGE and NEW things in my eyes...
~He is now signing and using a verbal approximation for "more" with each bite of food I give him and when he wants me to read, and RE-READ and RE-RE-read his favorite books
~When I ask for him to give mommy a kiss, he leans in to me with a full open mouth and plants one on me!
~ He is cruising on anything that is stationary or moves...including walking along the walls
~ He is saying "ma ma ma ma ma" constantly, I honestly think purposefully at times like in the morning
~ He is constantly problem solving and able to play independently for long periods of time
I am not trying to brag or be annoying, I just want to document these for myself too!
Here are a few pictures from our week! Hope everyone is well.

The Good Ol' Oregon Coast
Tyee, Jack, and I decided it would be nice if we took the "grammies" to the coast for a couple of days. We went to Manzanita, and I of course rented a house that was sight unseen, but close to the beach. Lets just say, old and rustic beach house = smelly, freezing, small, and not super baby friendly. We made the best of the situation, put the grammies up in the Inn at Manzanita, and still had tons of fun. It was rainy and freezing but we sat by the fire, played Scrabble, and had lots of laughs. Jack even slept through the night, both nights!! We are so lucky to have help and love from the best grammies in the world!

My Name is Jack....
Hello....my name is Jack.
I am a Gemini and I like...
Long crawls in the park
Eating dirt and sticks
Playing with my auntie Annie
Looking out the window in the buff
Exploring under tables and in dog kennels
I am looking for a baby who likes the same....or who has an endless supply of Veggie Booty.

Here Comes the Sun!!! And Fun!
We flew to Scottsdale, Arizona this past weekend to visit Tyee's friend Ron and his wife Robin and their two kids Ronny and Brooke. We had such a great time!! We did lots of hanging out by the pool, playing ball, going out to eat, going on a hike, and the boys treated Robin and I to a half day at the spa. Jack loved the pool time and playing with the kids. We want to thank Robin and Ron so much for their hospitality and generosity. We hope to see them in Oregon sometime soon....maybe for some snow time :>! Jack also acheived a milestone in my eyes....he "played" hoops for the first time with his mama...passed the basketball to me over and over for me to shoot and score. He racked up like 20 assists!

Spring is here!!! Maybe......
We thought it was supposed to be spring break around here, but waking up last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning to SNOW was pretty funny! So, Jack and Sophie stayed inside and played and waited for some sun so we could go outside. Jack got to spend some quality time with his aunite Moo (Meg:>) and her friend Chelsea when they were home for spring break. As Jack nears his 10 month birthday this weekend, he continues to develop rapidly, making lots of 'baa', ma, da, mmmm sounds and trying lots of new foods. We're not onto sushi quite yet, but thats some yogurt with peanut butter and apricots all over his face in the picture. We're off to sunny Scottsdale, AZ tommorrow to spend some time with Tyee's friends in the sun!! Cross your fingers for happy plane times for Jack!
